If you’re an avid J Crew wearer, you probably want to know how to find your J Crew style number. After all, this can help with finding another J Crew item to replace one that you already own and is well-worn.

Luckily J Crew makes it very easy to find their style number on their garments. For this part of the process, we will be trying to locate an inside tag with the style number.

For most pieces, look on the inside seam of the garment for the tags that outline the care instructions and materials. Once you locate it, flip to the back of the bunch of tags.

Here, you will see the style number. J Crew style numbers will always consist of a letter followed by four numbers.

From here, all you have to do is a quick and easy Google search to find the style name of your J Crew item. In this example, I searched “J Crew B8430.” Through this, I was able to find out that my item is the J Crew Regent Blazer.

Alternatively, your J Crew item may no longer have the style number tag attached. If that’s the case, no worries! We have two other ways to show you how to find your J Crew style number.

First, let’s go over how to perform a Google reverse image search. For my iPhone users, be sure to download the Google app first if you haven’t already. If you have a phone that is non-iPhone, download the Google Lens app.

In either case, the first step is to take a picture of your item. The picture doesn’t have to be professional by any means, but make sure it is at least in a well-lit area to capture the true color of the item.

From here, find where you can tap “Search with Google Lens.” After a few seconds, you should start seeing results that match your J Crew item.

For more plain items, like my blazer, you may have to scroll and click around to find exactly what you’re looking for. For example, the first result in my Google image search is a J Crew Schoolboy blazer, which doesn't quite match my item. 

The Schoolboy blazer has two front buttons, so because of that, I know I’ll need to keep looking around. 

Keyword Descriptors

Lastly, you can use specific item descriptors to try to locate your J Crew style number. With this method, bring out your creative side to describe the item in great detail.

Consider using the following fields in your search:

• Type of item
• Intended gender
• Color
• Pattern
• Style
• Material

Plus, add any other unique features or embellishments included within the item. Type this sentence that you just created into a Google search and see what results are yielded.
