Ralph Lauren is a popular designer brand, carrying men’s, women’s, and kids’ clothing and accessories. They offer a wide variety of high-end and high-quality items, which is why it is a beloved brand by many.
So maybe you have a favorite Ralph Lauren piece and you are wanting to buy another, or maybe you found a Ralph Lauren gem at the thrift store or Plato’s Closet. Either way, you may be wondering how to find a Ralph Lauren style number to get more information on the item.
In this post, you will learn multiple strategies to find a Ralph Lauren product code, also known as the Ralph Lauren Style number.
What Is Ralph Lauren?
Ralph Lauren has been dominating the luxury fashion industry for over 50 years. Underneath the umbrella of Ralph Lauren, many sub-category brands have branched off.
These include Polo Ralph Lauren, Lauren Ralph Lauren, Ralph Lauren Luxury, Ralph Lauren Purple Label, Ralph Lauren Sport, Chaps, and more. Plus, did you know that Ralph Lauren also is in the home and hospitality sector?
As you can see, Ralph Lauren is truly a lifestyle brand. This is why it is generally sought after by many, and upholds a high resale value. So now, let’s get into learning how to find a Ralph Lauren style number.
Brand Tags
Due to the variety of brands, styles, and types of items, finding a product code will widely vary depending on the Ralph Lauren piece. Sometimes, the items themselves do not have a product code. However, more on that a little later.
In order to see if your item has a product code, the first place to look is the price tag. That is, if the price tag is still attached.
Look for the tag that has the barcode on it. At the top of the tag, it should say Ralph Lauren, then have a circle with the barb going through to attach the tag to the item. Look just underneath that circle, and you will find your Ralph Lauren product code.
It will typically be a 12-digit code without spaces or dashes. Search this number on Google to yield results for your Ralph Lauren item.
However, many items will not have the original tags still attached. If this is the case, the next place to look is the care and washing instructions tag. This will be located on the inside seam of your garment.
There are usually a few large tags with information like the washing instructions, material composition, and where the garment was made. Underneath those bunch of tags there will be a smaller rectangle tag.
Look at this small tag to find your Ralph Lauren style number, which is referenced as the Ralph Lauren Material number in this example. Again, take that 12-digit code and input it into a Google search in order to find your specific Ralph Lauren piece.
For newer Ralph Lauren pieces, the brand has been inputting a QR code on their labels to demonstrate authenticity. These are also known as Digital Product IDs, and can also be used to find the Ralph Lauren product code.
Google Lens
As we talked about earlier, some Ralph Lauren items do not have a product code located on the care tag, and an even fewer amount will have the product QR code.
Even without these identification factors, consumers can still find information about their Ralph Lauren items quickly and easily. This involves using Google Reverse Image Search.
All you have to do is snap a picture of the item, and search with Google Lens. If you are using an iPhone, make sure you have the Google search app downloaded onto your phone.
Android users can download the specific Google Lens app onto their device. Alternatively, you can use the web browser version of Google Reverse Image Search.
On a mobile device, go into the picture settings and select Search with Google Lens. This will yield visual results by Google that match the image you selected.
On a web browser, right-click on the picture/item you're wanting to look up, and select Search Images with Google. With both methods, you should start seeing results that match your item.
You may have to do some extra scrolling and clicking around to try and find what you’re looking for. You may end up finding the Ralph Lauren product code on a variety of different websites, including the Ralph Lauren site itself, Poshmark, or eBay.
Alternatively, Google Lens does not always pull up what you’re looking for. If that is the case, try our last method to find your Ralph Lauren style number.
Item Descriptors
Lastly, you can use unique item descriptors and keywords to try to find your Ralph Lauren style number. For this method, describe the item in great detail.
For my Ralph Lauren dress example in this post, I searched “Ralph Lauren blue and white dress v neck”. Input this into the Google search bar and see what comes up.
If you don’t find what you’re looking for initially, toggle over to the Images section of the Google search. You may also have to scroll and go down some rabbit holes to find what you’re looking for.
If you find the same item but in a different color, take this path to see if you can find your specific item.
Now that you know these strategies, you’re going to be a pro at locating a Ralph Lauren style number! Have you tried any of these methods to find your item? Comment below!
