Cancellation Timeline: Full Price Purchase
In order to cancel a Poshmark order, there are two main time landmarks you will want to be aware of: 3 hours and 7 days.
3 Hours
Poshmark allows buyers to cancel a full price purchase within 3 hours after completing the transaction. In order to do this, follow these steps:
- Navigate to My Purchases
- Tap on the item you purchase
- Tap Problems/Order Inquiry
- Tap Accidental Purchase
- Tap Yes
Following this, your order cancellation will be processed and you will receive a refund for the item cost plus shipping and any tax. Naturally this leads us to the next question. What if I need to cancel my Poshmark order after 3 hours?
Now that the Poshmark 3 hour grace period is up, you are not able to go into your order and cancel it yourself. That option has now disappeared. At this point, you will need to reach out to the seller to request an order cancellation.
Unfortunately this route is not guaranteed as it is now up to the seller to grant a cancellation or not. Technically they do not have to warrant a refund. However, be sure to explain your reasoning and politely ask the seller to cancel.
If the seller decides not to approve the cancellation, you still have a few options. First, you can reach out to Poshmark support. However, this can be a lengthy process as Poshmark may take a business day or two to respond. While you wait, the seller may ship out the item to you.
Plus, there is no guarantee that Poshmark will facilitate the cancellation anyways since the 3 hour window has passed. If the item is shipped to you, you still have a few options regarding receiving a refund.
First, you can take advantage of Poshmark’s RePosh tool and sell the item yourself to try to recuperate the money you spent on your accidental purchase. Or, if the item would happen to arrive not as described, you can request a refund and see if you are able to return the item.

7 Days
7 days following purchase is the next landmark you want to be aware of. Poshmark allows sellers a certain amount of business days to process and ship the item.
Once it reaches the 7 day landmark, the order cancellation button reappears for users. With this method, you do not have to reach out to the buyer to cancel.
Just like within the 3 hour window, follow the steps to cancel the order and receive a refund to your original payment method.

Cancellation Timeline: Purchase Via Offer
On Poshmark, we’re all about finding a good deal. Poshmark allows buyers the option to send offers on items to negotiate and find the absolute best deal.
So let’s say you send an offer to a buyer and they accept. This purchase is now binding, and the option to cancel does not appear. Not even a 3 hour window!
Poshmark assumes orders placed through offer are very unlikely to be accidental, and thus does not allow the buyer the ability to cancel. However, you still have the options as we discussed above including messaging the seller and/or Poshmark support.
This is something to be conscious of if you are looking for a specific item and you see multiple listings for it. Avoid sending offers to each seller because you may end up having multiple sellers accept.
If this is the case, you may end up with multiple of the same item. As frustrating as it is, only send offers out to one item and wait for a response. The buyer has up to 24 hours to respond, but hopefully they will get back to your sooner.
In summary, be mindful when sending offers and purchasing items via offer. To avoid any headache or buyer’s remorse, ensure it is the right item and right price for you.
How To Cancel As A Seller
As a seller on Poshmark, you can cancel an order at any point for pretty much any reason. You may need to cancel due to the item being damaged in storage, not being able to find the item, or if the seller has asked you to cancel.
In order to cancel the order, follow these steps:
- Navigate to the item you sold
- Tap Problems/Order Inquiry
- Tap Cancel Order
- Select the reason for cancellation

From here, the buyer will be notified of the Poshmark order cancellation and that they will be receiving a refund. The earnings from this sale will also be removed from your pending earnings balance.
In summary, there are a few nuances to know regarding canceling a Poshmark order. If issues arise, my hope is that buyers and sellers can come together to find a fair solution.

Do I have to try to cancel an order that the buyer paid for but now says...."I want to cancel because I found the same item cheaper!"
Amanda Manera
Hi Judith!
Technically, no you do not have to cancel this order. You can inform the buyer that, per Poshmark terms, it states all sales are final outside of the 3 hour cancellation window.
However, it is totally up to you whether you want to honor the cancellation and cancel it for them.
Hope this helps!

If you choose "Other" as a seller, does it give you an option to say why you are canceling? I want Poshmark to know I am canceling because the buyer has requested and not due to anything on my end as the seller?
Amanda Manera
Hi Olivia!
Unfortunately there is not an option to let Poshmark know that the seller is requesting a cancellation.
What you could do is instruct the buyer how to cancel the sale themselves from their end if its within the 3 hour window after purchase.
The good news is that Poshmark generally doesn't "punish" sellers for cancelling orders.
Hope this helps!
