If you’re trying to identify an Aerie style number, you've landed on the right page. Perhaps you want the style number of your well-loved Aerie item to buy another one. Alternatively, you may want to resell an Aerie piece you stumbled across on a sourcing trip at your local thrift store.
No matter the reason, Aerie is a cherished brand by many. From loungewear to activewear, along with cute and casual staple wardrobe pieces, we've got the tips to help you find your Aerie style number.
In this article, we'll discuss 4 ways to conduct an Aerie style number search. All of these methods are simple and effective, so let’s jump right in!
Materials Tag
If your item no longer has the original price tag, this will be the preferred step for you. Here, we will look at the materials and care instructions tag for the Aerie item number.
To locate this, run your hand along the inside seam of the item. If it is a pair of pants or shorts, look on the inside waistband.
This is where the Aerie style can be located. Here, you can find a 4-digit code. This sought-after 4-digit code will sometimes appear after the date stamp.
For this example below, it is a newly released Aerie item and it does not contain the date code. However, if you look at the last line on the tag, we can see exactly what we’re looking for: the style number! It reads “01743”, with the style number being just “1743.”
Once you’ve found the Aerie product code, insert it into Google. For example, type “Aerie dress 1743.” Scroll through the results to find your Aerie item!
It is important to note that the Aerie materials tag only includes the last 4 digits of the style number. In its entirety, an Aerie item number is 8 digits long.
Because of that, be sure to continue reading for more strategies on finding an Aerie style number!
Price Tag
The next method for finding an Aerie style number involves using the price tag. This will only work if the price tag is still attached.
So if you still have the Aerie tag, you are going to be looking for an 8 or 9-digit code.
On Aerie’s website, under the details section, items are given an 8-digit numerical code. It presents as 4 digits, a dash, then another 4 digits.
Sometimes Aerie puts just the 8-digit code on the tag, and other times they throw in an extra “0” to make it a 9-digit code. To locate this, look at the very top line of your Aerie tag.
You will typically see 3 numbers, followed by 4 numbers, followed by 4 or 5 numbers.
So here’s how to decipher this:
- Ignore the first three numbers.
- The next 4 numbers are the first four of your style number.
- Then, you will see a dash.
- If you have four digits following the dash, these are the last four of your style number.
- If you have five digits following the dash, remove the first 0 from the sequence and the last 4 will be your style number.
Over the years, Aerie style number presentations on tags have changed and will continue to vary. If this method does not work for your item, keep reading for our other strategies that do not involve tags at all!
Google Reverse Image Search
So maybe you are missing both your price tag and inner tag on your Aerie item. Or, for some reason, the style number search method may not have yielded the results you want.
Either way, we still have a few great options for finding your Aerie style number. The first one is Google Reverse Image Search. In this section, we’ll go over how to perform an image search.
- Download the Google (iPhone) or Google Lens app (Android).
- Take a photo of the item using your phone.
- For iPhone users, open the image in your photo gallery and tap “Search with Google Lens.” Android users can upload their photo to Google Lens directly.
- Google will take it from here- wait just a few seconds while the results pull up.
- Scroll through the results to find your Aerie item.
If you can’t find your Aerie item and/or style number with Google Lens, we still have one more method to show you.
Item Descriptors
Lastly, we will teach you how to use descriptive words to find your Aerie item. For the dress example, I entered “Aerie midi dress black ribbed sleeveless high neck.”
As you can see in my example, I included the brand, style, color, pattern, neckline, and sleeve length. Be sure to get creative with your descriptions, also adding the dress, pants, or shorts length, along with any other embellishments.
This will generate search results from Google, including web, image, and shopping sources. Just like with the Google Lens method, you may have to scroll through all of these results in order to find exactly what you’re looking for.
You may see results from the retailer's website if it is a newer item. Alternatively, you may come across secondhand marketplace listings on Poshmark and eBay.
Don’t be afraid to click around and go down a few rabbit holes in the search for your Aerie item.
Conclusion
With these methods under your sleeve, you are ready to find your Aerie style number. If one method doesn’t prove to be successful, don’t hesitate to try another.
With each method taking less than one minute, it may be worth it to try a few methods to see which one you prefer.
