If you’re familiar with the secondhand retail store Plato’s Closet, you may be wondering if you can shop Plato’s Closet online. This store is known for its racks of pre-loved clothing items, shoes, and accessories.
If you’ve shopped in person, you will notice the color-coordinated racks of clothing right away. Plus, if you look behind the cash registers, you will see top-dollar and high-end items ready for you to purchase.
As a former Plato’s Closet employee of 4 years, I know a thing or two about shopping and selling at Plato’s Closet. So I’m here to answer your burning question: does Plato’s Closet sell its items online?

Plato’s Closet Online
So, does Plato's Closet sell items online? The answer is: sometimes. For the vast majority of Plato's Closet stores, online shopping is not offered.
However, there are a select few Plato's Closet locations that do offer an online store! Most of the following locations allow customers to either buy items online and pick them up in-store, or have their items shipped.
Plato's Closet Online Shopping Locations
- Portage, MI
- Ledgewood, NJ
- Bridgeville, PA
- Clarksville, TN
- Parkersburg, WV
- Wilmington, NC
- Massingua (Canada)
Unfortunately, online selling is just not a standard practice of the entire Plato’s Closet franchise (yet). This differs, though, from another closely related store.
Plato’s Closet is very similar to its sister store, Clothes Mentor. Clothes Mentor does allow its customers to shop in their online store for every single location.
Clothes Mentor buys and sells high-end, designer, and luxury clothing, shoes, and accessories. Customers can either visit the store in person or shop at any Clothes Mentor location online.
Plato’s Closet Social Media
In the past, there have been a select few Plato’s Closet Instagram pages that have sold items online. For example, I have previously purchased a Marc Jacobs purse from a Plato's Closet in Dulles, Virginia.
Although you can’t technically shop online at all Plato’s Closet locations, be sure to follow your local stores. Many times they will post new inventory, and you may be able to request that they hold the item for you.
You can either comment on the post or call the store directly. Most stores hold items for 24 hours or until the end of the next business day.
In summary, you can only shop Plato’s Closet online at a few locations. However, you can find items at your local Plato’s Closet stores from the comfort of your couch by hopping on social media.
