USPS Missent: Will I Receive My Package?

Have you ever received the notification that your package was missent?

So your next question probably is “what does missent mean?”

Or, you’re probably thinking “when will I get my package?!”

Have no fear, we’ll address all of your concerns here.

When a package is missent, that means it has been routed in the wrong direction.

The package may have been sorted by the machines or USPS workers incorrectly.

If this is the case, USPS will be notified of this when the item is scanned.

This will be a red flag for the package, and it will then begin its way back to the right path.

If your package has been missent, the best thing you can do is remain patient. The good news is USPS is aware of their mistake, and are working to rectify it.

You can reach out to your local USPS, however you likely will not gain additional information. Tracking should be updating with a new delivery date soon.

Most packages that are missent will arrive in 1-3 business days. Weekends and holidays can tack on a few extra days, too.
